Happy Saturday!
Sorry I am just this Feel Good Fashion post today! I’m a little late, obviously. I was in the shower yesterday morning when I realized I hadn’t written the post. Whoops.
I also realized I should probably mention what these posts are/are not, for those of you who haven’t been reading my blog a long time.
A little over a year ago, I took on a huge personal mission/goal to start dressing better and putting more effort into my appearance. I really found that when I was feeling good about my clothes and how I presented myself to others, it made my motivation to continue to lose weight that much stronger. I was tired of hating my body because I was not/am still not at my goal weight, and decided I wanted to “feel good” at any weight. I started documenting an outfit a week on the blog, just to keep myself accountable to this mission.
And it really has worked for me. I obviously can’t quantify the increase in confidence I’ve experienced over the last year + since I started doing this, but it’s been huge. I really urge people who are struggling with weight loss or confidence in general, to put a little more effort into their appearance, because I’ve seen such benefits with it.
This is NOT, nor will ever be a fashion blog. I’m just a simple girl trying to look a little more thrown together on a cheap budget and trying to navigate liking my body and feeling comfortable in it, no matter what size I am – nor how much weight I have left to lose.
Anyway – another week, another 5 outfits I could pick to show y’all. The one that probably made me feel the best was one containing colors I would usually not wear.
I pretty much never wear greens, yellows or golds. But I decided to get a little brave a few weeks ago while shopping for some new clothes for my internship and voila – I felt GREAT in them!
Here is where everything is from (and the approximate prices):
Like I said, I really loved this outfit and I loved wearing colors I don’t normally wear. They looked really good together and I was surprised all day!
I’ve also been wearing these little shoe lining socks (my favorites are from Hue that I got at Nordstrom Rack for $3 a pair). They have been making it SO much easier to walk around all day in flats and not get blisters or have my feet sweat to death.
I definitely recommend these!
So there you go, another week, another outfit down

I always wondered if those little sock things really worked! I love that gold cardigan, it’s really cute
Yes but be careful, some work better than others! The ones that are the best have the little plastic sticky piece at the back to hold them to the heel!
So, I know I saw you mention that there hasn’t been a ton of movement on the scale, but I wanted to say that you really are looking awesome! I feel like you look great, especially when you think back over the long-term! Don’t let the numbers deter you, you’re definitely doing something right! xo!
bah i just don’t see it, but I appreciate you saying so
Ive been having problems with retaining water since starting my internship, so I feel constantly bloated until the evening when I work out! Or maybe I’m just crazy.
The whole outfit is cute! I especially love your pants, shoes, and the necklace is DIVINE! I squealed when I saw it was from Charming Charlies. I love that store.
I agree with Lindsay, you are looking more and more amazing each time I see pix of you, Laura! LOVE that yellow cardigan too- it looks great on you!
thank you!!! i was surprised how well the cardigan looked on me too! yellow usually does not become me
I love that outfit!!! The yellow cardigan and necklace are so perfect for fall. If there was an “add to shopping cart” button on your page, I’d totally be buying that entire outfit for myself. Perfect little sockies included.
The shoes!!! OMG the shoes! I want them!
