It’s that time of the month again – Foodie Pen Pal day!
I honestly can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 7 months now! I was one of the first participants and I’m still loving the program and ALL the friends I’ve made through it. I say this every month, but I URGE people to join this program if you’re looking to make new blogging friends and develop relationships with the “smaller” bloggers. Even if you don’t blog and just read – you can join too!
If you want to see my other packages, here’s September, October, November, December, January and February here.
In case you don’t know what Foodie Pen Pals is, here’s a quick overview:
The Foodie Pen Pals is a pretty simple concept. We all signed up to receive a pen pal and we were supposed to send them a package of food, costing only $15. Homemade treats can also be sent! The purpose is to expose fellow bloggers (and readers!) to new foods and all share our love of food! If you want a little more detail, check out founder Lindsay’s post to read the details.
If you want to sign up for the November swap, just email Lindsay at theleangreenbean@gmail.com and include the following information:
-Your full name
-Your email address
-Your blog name/address
-Your twitter handle (if applicable)
She needs your email by April 4th as pairings will be emailed on April 5th!
This month I sent my package to Jill from Eating as a Path to Yoga. She is SUCH a sweetie and we’ve been emailing back and forth all month! Definitely go check out her blog so you can see what I sent her!
My package was from Kasey from PowerCakes. She is such a cutie and I love following her on twitter, so I was really excited to receive her package!
She sent me gluten free crackers, raw onion rings, cacoa butter and an oat bar.
These crackers are really pretty good for gluten free crackers! I’ve been eating them with cream cheese for a snack. MMMMM. Sadly, the raw onion rings tasted nothing like onion rings and weren’t something I snacked on much. But it was really awesome to try something new, so thanks Kasey for sending them!
I’m saving the bar for a morning when I don’t have time to grab breakfast and haven’t decided how to use the butter yet. Anyone have any ideas there?
Thank you SO much Kasey for the package!
And sadly, every other month I’ve shared links to everyone else in the program – but I’m not going to this month. We’ve got OVER 300 people now and it’s just too much work and I don’t have enough time (In fact, I should be studying now!). Hopefully once life calms down a little, I’ll be able to post everyone’s links again. Sorry everyone!
What would you have sent your pen pal if you participated? Any ideas for foods to send to my future pen pals?

oooh that oat bar sounds good!!
I’ll let you know how it is when I try it! It’s really dense, but soft when you press into it.
Thanks for helping me out my first time around!!! Until next month!
YAYY!! so glad you liked everything!! :]
Girl – I got one of those oat bars this month too and I loved mine! Mine was peanut butter but the cranberry orange looks yummy too!
Wow, 7 months – you are an old timer.
cranberry orange sounds super yummy.
Hi by the way.
Hi!
They have just started a UK one and I am so excited! I have signed up for next month
Oh wow – those Onion Rings sound so intriguing! I wonder if you could use them in a different way, like as a baked potato topper?
I have been reading these posts for a while and wanting to join up… so this time I am!
Wow – I can’t believe you used to put in everyone’s links! I’ve been sending people over to Lindsay’s linky post, that was good enough for me
Your parcel looks lovely, really thoughtful.
