Disclaimer: This giveaway is being provided with my own money because I truly love this cooking resource. Sparkpeople has no idea I’m giving away their new cookbook.
Hi peeps!
I posted my weigh in from this week last night if anyone is interested.
Things have been ROUGH round here lately. I’m going to San Francisco next weekend to hang out with Michelle, Sarah and anyone going to Foodbuzz (I’m not, just hanging out) so I’m trying to get ahead of my school work so I can enjoy myself while on the trip!
To make up for my absence lately – let’s do a giveaway shall we?
(source)
I’ve mentioned it several times, but I LOVE Sparkpeople and credit them for inspiring me to become healthy, change my life and the decision to return to school to become a Registered Dietitian.
Their cookbook came out on October 4th, and I received it on October 5th. I pre-ordered the cookbook from Amazon and have been scouring the book and trying to make as many recipes as I have been able to. I seriously LOVE this cookbook and it may be my favorite cookbook ever created.
The recipes are simple, have common ingredients and provide solutions for a variety of different situations. There are recipes for breakfasts, salads, soups, entrees, vegetarian meals, whole grains, pasta, dessert, snacks and seasoning mixes. There are recipes for slow cookers, 30 minute meals and meals for a crowd. There are common American recipes that have been remade healthier, as well as meals that are more creative and full of healthy ingredients.
I love how many recipes have been re-made from member submitted recipes on sparkrecipes.com. There are also three weeks of meal plans, tips for weight loss, tips for cooking/certain foods and spark member testimonials.
Basically, this cookbook is amazing and I want every person out there to own it!
Here are the recipes I’ve made so far:
Creamy Broccoli-Cheese soup
Slow-Cooker White Bean Chicken Chili
Slow-Cooker Turkey Sausage and Bean Stew
Slow-Cooker Rosemary Chicken Breasts
The Downies’ Honey-Ginger Salmon
Better-for-you Beef Stroganoff
I’ve also made their caramelized onions, but have no picture of it!
So, do you want to win this cookbook? I’m going to give you the chance!

I don’t have a favorite cookbook. If I need one my sister collects them and has 2 – 8 foot long 5 shelf bookcases stuffed full! I like browsing online for recipes…like Sparkpeople where I’ve been signed up for a many years. So excited they have a cookbook out. I also like allrecipes.com, helpful for creating based on ingredients or printing my shopping list.

My favorite cookbook (at the moment anyway) is the Biggest Book of Slow Cooker Recipes by Better Homes & Gardens. I use it so much it’s dirty inside and many of the pages are crumpled! And the recipes have nutritional info!

My favorite cookbook is the 1950′s version of Betty Crocker. Not exactly healthy, but it has all the classics and is my default, go-to cookbook.

Thanks for doing this – awesome idea. You Rock!
Have fun in SF! ;o)
I don’t really have a favorite cookbook. At the moment I’m more of a fan of online recipe searching, however I will say Joy of Cooking is good for times that I need simple directions for how to make basic things that aren’t exactly meals – like how to hard-boil an egg.
I’m a Facebook fan
My favorite cookbook is…as horrible as it is it is actually a Comfort Foods magazine/cookbook. Everything I have made from it tastes really good and it also keeps the hubs happy! LOL It may not be all that great on the waistline, but I try to make it healthier as much as possible.
I’m a fan on Facebook!
My face cookbook right now is 1001 low carb recipes. So excited to enter.
I’m a fan on Facebook.
I tweeted about this giveaway. Yay for 3 entries.
I am super excited to check this cookbook out! My favorite cookbook is a collection of family recipes. As my cousin’s wedding shower gift to all of us, she had everyone submit their fav. recipes and she compiled them and made cookbooks for everyone. Not only are their delish recipes in there, it’s cool to find recipes from my great great grandmother and try ‘em out!
Looks fantastic!
I’m a big fan of Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Cookbooks.

Just gave you the thumbs up on FB. I like
Those pictures look amazing, especially the rosemary chicken and white chicken chili. I find that I keep cooking chicken the same way, so this would be amazing!!
I would have to say that my favorite cookbook is actually a hand-made one that I received on my wedding day. It has recipes from everyone in my family. They are delicious recipes and very dear to me; however, I think finding alternatives to some of them would be great.
I also liked your page on facebook, but I don’t have twitter, so no tweeting for me.
Fix it and Forget it is my alltime favorite cookbook!!.
Im already a fan on facebook!! Thanksfor the chance to win!

My Favorite Cookbook is BBQ USA Steve Raiclin
I just recently started trying to cook healthy meals at home and my favorite cookbook so far is Jaime Oliver’s Food Revolution cookbook. He makes it simple enough that even I can handle it!
Honestly, my favorite cookbook is the black composition notebook my mother has been filling with recipes (hers, and ones from magazines, etc) since I was a child. That book is filled with comfort food, and holiday goodies that I will always treasure.
My favorite published cookbook is anything by America’s Test Kitchen. I love that they detail their trial and errors alongside most of the recipes, and that they give advice on what they think are the best products to use.
I tweeted!
