Just pick one

in daily life

The past 2 weeks have been slightly insane. I have my 1 hour research seminar this week, and to say I’ve been a little busy/anxious about it would be an understatement. Thankfully I’ve been in foodservice for 3 rotations straight (I’m going to recap them all together next week), so I’ve had extra time to work on my seminar. What I haven’t had is a ton of time, flow or continuity with my meals or eating.

So this week I made the goal to just focus on ONE thing, to slowly get myself back on track. This week I’m working on eating more vegetables. As much as I want to work on tracking my food consistently as well (the android app inconsistencies with working has not helped there), I am going to focus solely on vegetables. That’s my top priority.

I started at lunch today by getting a vegetable soup and a side of sauteed spinach on the side of my grilled chicken sandwich on wheat.

What’s one thing you’re working on this week??

Good luck with your seminar! You are going to rock it. :)

These past few weeks I’ve been focusing on avoiding sweets and stress eating. It has been going well so far and I hope to see more results in the coming weeks.

Hang in there, Laura! I like the idea of focusing on one healthy habit at a time.

I like your idea of focusing on one healthy thing to sort of reset yourself. I always get so overwhelmed when I come back from a vacation or when I just am go-go-go and lose sight of my healthy routine. But by taking it one habit at a time, it really makes it so much more doable. Going to use this tip! :)

I love that despite things being crazy busy, you are still working hard to meet your fitness goals – though one that is tailored to the amount of free time that you have. When I travel for business, I focus on the same thing – adding veggies to all the heavy restaurant & catered meals we eat.

This week I’m trying to get back into the swing of going to the gym after a few hectic weeks. I did Spin class last night and just signed up for an 8-week Pilates group-apparatus class!
