GUESS WHAT?
I found a full length mirror at work! ha!
I’ve been taking my Feel Good Fashion photos at the end of the day, when I get home, which is exhausting and hard. And now that I’m trying to go straight to the gym most days, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get these pictures anymore for y’all.
Anyway – now that I found this mirror, I can take pictures when I get to the hospital! woot.
So here is this week’s outfit that made me feel good:
Wearing a vest always makes me feel like a tool, while simultaneously making me feel so put together. Vests were always something I wanted to wear but never had the confidence to do so. Y’all can be honest – if I look douch-ey, please tell me.
The last time I wore this vest (and photographed it) was back in December:
I actually wore this same outfit (with the purple version of this collared pinstripe shirt) during the first week of my internship.
Anyway, back to this week’s outfit. This purple shirt is gigantic on me now (see how the excess sleeve fabric was hanging around my armpit?), so it was nice to pair it with the vest to make it a bit more form fitting.
I know I said I loved the Gap Perfect Trousers, but I love these pants SO MUCH MORE. They are so much more flattering, but comfortable and not tight at all.
Here’s where everything is from. I honestly don’t remember all the prices right now.
- Black Pants: Gap Modern Boot Cut pants $36 (on sale)
- Vest: New York & Company (old)
- Shirt: Old Navy (old)
- Shoes: Nine West from DSW clearance rack
- Necklace: New York & Company
- Earrings: Etsy $12
So what do you think? Douch-ey vest or no?
Also, I’m not sure if you can tell from the progression of the last four weeks of fashion posts, but I’ve lost close to 5 pounds since starting my internship! Isn’t that crazy? I spent some time looking at the photos last night and I think I can definitely tell. Can anyone else notice?

NOT douch-ey at all!!! I love that you rock vests! I keep saying I need to get one {cuz my other is a size 20 from Target and thank goodness it doesn’t fit anymore, lol}. I hoping to check out my local thrift store to score a good deal! Anyhow, look at you whittling on down! YES I can tell!! And I love the excess purple shirt armpit hang.
The vest isn’t douchey! I adore vests, but only if they fit right. I had a great one from Lane Bryant that I paid way too much for, but fit me wonderfully. (Then fifty pounds later…)
I totally hear you on the vest issue! I think OTHER people (you included) look so cute in them, but every time I even think about wearing one I feel like an asshat.
I need to pick it back up and get it together again with regard to dressing like an adult especially now that summer is over and out dress code is tightening back up to business casual instead of “technically business casual but wear what ever you want as long as you donate some dollars to charity.” As a result, I’ve decided to reward every 5 pounds lost with 1 new article of work clothing.
That vest looks really cute on you! And I love those flats!
Good job on the weight loss! I think the vest looks good on you. Definitely better with the purple than with the off-white, though. Love your shoes!
Super cute, Laura! That color looks AWESOME on you. Strange as it may sound, it really brings out your hair
