What a weekend!

Hi :)

I hope you all had a great weekend and are having a great Easter (if you celebrate the holiday). My weekend was slightly insane truthfully and I ate pretty crappy – but we all have those weekends and I’m very happy to be back on the routine tomorrow.

This is my last big week before finals (lab finals next week, class finals the week after) and I am feeling the stress already. Here’s what my schedule looks like:

Monday: group project due and assignment due

Tuesday: test over protein metabolism

Wednesday: lab report and lab quiz, then another test

Thursday: 4 hour catering lab I have to attend/work

Saturday: 7-8 page culture and food paper due (that I haven’t started of course)

Not to mention all my personal responsibilities of the week (grocery shopping, working out, cooking, physical therapy, going to a knife skills class Wednesday). I feel a little crazy.

This week I’m just going to keep my focus on those April goals that I set, since they really do work nicely as weekly goals as well.

So what all went down this weekend?

Friday after my doctor’s appointment, I met a friend for lunch then met Matt at the mall after. We had a few errands to run and wanted to look at bikes. We have been talking about buying bikes for about a month – and with the official diagnosis from the doctor that I can only lift weights, bike and swim now – it was the perfect time to buy said bikes.

While at the mall, I cashed in some sephora gift cards from Christmas for some perfume and ended up buying a new fossil watch and fossil sunglasses. Totally unexpected purchases, but they were both useful. The sunglasses I currently own I’ve had for four years and they are one piece of glue away from breaking. I love them and have never been able to find a similar design, but did at Fossil! The watch was to replace my old watch that I have stopped wearing because it had a velcro strap and was ripping up my clothes.

Love it!

Then we bought bikes!!! I have a whole post about this experience + biking the Trinity Trails again that I’ll post tomorrow.

After buying bikes we were in a mad rush to get to a school social event for Matt, then straight from there a going-away party for a friend at a Korean Karaoke bar.

Somewhere in that mix, dinner never happened. I would have honestly been happy with not eating dinner (I had a big breakfast and lunch) but I needed to take my prescription anti-inflammatory and that HAS to be taken with food. I found myself eating one chicken strip and about 7-8 onion rings for dinner at 10pm, just so I could take my pill. This was literally the only food on the menu at the karaoke place that wasn’t Korean. Korean food would have been fine, but we were in a private room on couches, all smushed in together and couldn’t exactly eat a bowl of rice or noodles.

total #failwhale

But now you know, that even my diet is not perfect and I struggle at times as well. With the combination of the pill, plus a drink or two, plus the small awful dinner – I was feeling very very strange that night. VERY strange. And I’ll leave it at that :)

After the karaoke bar, we headed out in Dallas. And preceded to have a blast.

There was a hilarious video filmed (which I won’t be posting – haha sorry!). And this was the best picture of the night – me two stepping with one of my college roommates from back in the day.

HAHA. It was a lot of fun!

Today we’re not doing anything for Easter. We had a few options but I need to get started on my homework pronto! So far today we’ve slept in (glorious), cleaned, done some laundry and I’ve now blogged and am starting homework after this.

I hope you guys had a better (food) weekend than me. What were you up to?

Hahah my weekend was Friday: research until midnight. Saturday 8 am – 3:30 PM research 3:30-5:30 a GLORIOUS massage + commute time, etc. for 6-8 MORE SCHOOLWORK. :) Picked up Yodaman from camp then did a bit of work and caught up with friends via phone. This morning I took two of my little ones to the park so the Easter bunny could come, thennnn schoolwork. :) And dealt with a dumbass lady from Sony Tech Support. So I am living vicariously through your weekend my love! At least you kept portions small at the Korean place and didn’t get like a mega-basket of Onion Rings, yeah? I say it is a success. Good luck with all your work this week!

I decided at some point, I would rather get sick from the medicine than from eating more of the disgusting fried food.

I have SO much school work to do as well :( except, I should like actually do it instead of putting it off.
